The CARES Ministry (Helping Hands) of Zion Chapel Missionary Baptist Church exists to extend the love, compassion, and presence of Jesus Christ to members who are sick, homebound, hospitalized, grieving, or experiencing the loss of a loved one. We believe the church is called to walk alongside one another not only during times of celebration, but especially during seasons of sickness, sorrow, difficulty, and loss.

Through personal visits, telephone calls, prayer, words of encouragement, cards, and other expressions of Christian care, the CARES Ministry reminds our members that they are loved, remembered, and supported by their Zion Chapel church family. Our Helping Hands seek to provide a caring presence during times when encouragement and companionship are needed most.

The ministry also provides compassionate support to bereaved members and their families. While we cannot remove the pain of loss, we can stand beside those who are grieving, pray with them, encourage them through God’s Word, and remind them of the hope and comfort we have in Jesus Christ.

Our desire is to cultivate a church culture where no member feels forgotten or alone during life’s difficult seasons. Through faithful service, prayer, compassion, and genuine relationships, the CARES Ministry seeks to demonstrate that caring for one another is an essential part of being the Body of Christ.

Our Mission:
To demonstrate the compassion of Jesus Christ by providing prayer, encouragement, visitation, and loving support to members and families experiencing sickness, hospitalization, bereavement, grief, or other challenging circumstances.

Our Vision:
To cultivate a compassionate church family where members faithfully care for one another, walk together through difficult seasons, and ensure that those who are sick, grieving, homebound, or hurting remain connected to the love and fellowship of Zion Chapel.

The CARES Ministry is for those who have a heart for encouraging others and a desire to be present when people need the church most. Whether through a visit, prayer, telephone call, card, comforting word, or simple act of kindness, every Helping Hand can make a meaningful difference.

We invite compassionate and caring members of Zion Chapel Missionary Baptist Church to join us as we minister to those experiencing sickness, grief, and difficult seasons.

Together, we are Helping Hands—sharing Christ’s love, carrying one another’s burdens, and reminding our church family that they are never alone.
